Modern vehicles are manufactured using a blend of steel, aluminum, fiberglass, and plastic. Because magnets will only adhere to ferromagnetic metals like steel or iron, it is important to check your vehicle's materials before purchasing.
1. The 5-Second "Fridge Magnet" Test
Before ordering, grab any standard kitchen refrigerator magnet and hold it to the exact spot on your vehicle where you plan to place your new Hero Company magnet.
If it snaps on tight: Our vehicle magnet will work perfectly!
If it slides off or feels weak: The panel is likely aluminum, plastic, or has body filler underneath. Our magnet will not work there.
2. Common Non-Magnetic "Hot Spots"
Even on steel vehicles, certain areas are almost never magnetic. Avoid planning to place your magnet on:
Bumpers: Modern front and rear bumpers are made of plastic (TPO) covers.
Trims & Moldings: Plastic protective side-cladding or chrome-plated plastic trim.
Windows & Sunroofs: Glass will not hold a magnetic charge.

To protect your vehicle's paint and ensure your magnet lasts for years to come, please follow these essential care instructions:
Keep it Flat: Only apply the magnet to completely flat surfaces. If a magnet is forced over a sharp body line, molding, or a deep dent, highway wind can catch the edge and pull it off.
Avoid Repair Areas: If your vehicle has ever had body work done where dent-filler (like Bondo) was used, the metal underneath is masked, and the magnet will not stick.
Fresh Paint & Wax: If applying the magnet over a freshly waxed surface, allow the wax to cure for 24 hours before applying the magnet.
Remove Before Washing: Always remove your magnet before taking your vehicle through a car wash or washing it by hand.
Beat the Heat: During periods of extreme heat and high temperatures, remove and clean the magnet and the vehicle surface at least once per week using mild soap and water. Ensure both are completely dry before reapplying.
